The flag football team came out strong and never let up in a convincing 12-0 victory over Lake Mary in the district quarterfinals. With a balanced offensive attack and a lockdown defense, the team punched their ticket to the semifinals in impressive fashion.

Abi Granet got things rolling with a dynamic touchdown run that energized the crowd and set the tone early. Quarterback River Padawar kept the momentum going, connecting with Dalton Berehowsky for a well-executed touchdown pass that extended the lead.

But the story of the night was the defense. Gabi Sloan came up big with a clutch interception that not only halted a Lake Mary drive but also preserved the shutout. The defensive unit held strong throughout the game, keeping Lake Mary out of the end zone and sealing the win.

With the victory, the team advances to the district semifinal, where they'll face off against a tough Apopka squad. The game is set for tonight at 6 p.m. at Ocoee High School.
