Lake Brantley entered the week as one of the area's most consistent teams, but the Patriots hit a challenging stretch as they dropped three games in as many days, facing stiff competition from Winter Park, Buford, and New Smyrna Beach.
The skid began Monday night with a 65–30 loss to the Winter Park Wildcats. It marked the second straight defeat to Winter Park this season, with the margin wider than their previous February meeting. Even in the loss, seniors Phillip Mondelus and Kaleb Malloy provided leadership, scoring eight and six points respectively.
Lake Brantley was unable to rebound Tuesday, falling 63–45 to the Buford Wolves. Mondelus continued his strong play, shooting 57% from the field and finishing with 17 points. Adam N'Daiye added nine points and six rebounds, but Buford proved too balanced, led by Dillon Nixon's 16 points and seven steals and Carmelo Williams' efficient 14-point, six-rebound performance.
The Patriots' rough patch continued Wednesday with a 53–43 loss to New Smyrna Beach, one of the hottest teams in the state. Mondelus delivered his most impressive outing of the week, recording a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while N'Daiye chipped in seven points. New Smyrna Beach extended its home winning streak to 15 games dating back to last season.
With the losses, Lake Brantley's record slipped from 10–4 to 10–6. Despite the results, the Patriots showed resilience and senior leadership, particularly from Mondelus, as they look to regroup and get back on track moving forward.
